Which is more important hard work or smart work?

We all have heard the hype of "Smart work is better than hard work" and "Work smart not hard" but really, what is smart work? Does it require so much attention? Or is smart work is something where you can achieve your goals without even working hard?

Smart work is basically the act of putting effort and applying our brain in order to produce maximum result by using minimum labor.

For example, Centuries back the cage man pushed his cart or huge pieces of stone for carrying it from one place to the other. But the modern man-made a wheelbarrow to easily carry his load and travel long distance with less effort and with more efficiency. This is where smart work comes into the picture.

Hard work is all about consistently working towards a particular goal irrespective of its worth and not being worried about the result or by not using any means to reduce your effort.

You tend to work hard when you do not apply any brain or logic to your work. Only hard work, might disable your thinking and push you away from the easiest possibilities to achieve the goal.

The best way to work on something is to apply the combination of both hard work and smart work. When you combine the features and qualities of both the work, you will yield better and efficient results rather than concentrating only on one particular goal.

Qualities of Hard Work

  1. Hard Work requires commitment and consistency.  A hard worker needs to consistently work towards what he perceives to be worth it, no matter how challenging the situation is.
  2. Hard work might put a lot of pressure on you. This might cause stress and break your lifestyle. According to hard work, you have to put long hours of work to actually achieve it. Sometimes, the work might also become monotonous.
  3. A hard-working person might yield great results because of his/her consistency.

Qualities of smart work

  1. To work smart, you need in-depth knowledge about that particular subject you are working on. So, first to acquire such knowledge you obviously need to put in the hard work.
  2. Smart work saves a lot of time and energy. Unlike hard work you no need to work until you drain, smart work helps you find other easiest routes to achieve your goals.
  3. In today's world of technology, smart work is the need of the hour. We are living in a fast-paced world, you cannot sit and drain yourself out. This era requires a fast application of knowledge and trimming the amount of time required to fulfill any task.
  4. When you work smart, you will yield your results sooner.

If you notice keenly, you can find that hard work and smart work are interdependent up to some level. So, the best way is to fuse both hard work and smart work to achieve your goals. Hard work has this one best quality of consistency. Without consistency your goal is useless. Smart work has the feature to apply your logical knowledge and trimming the time taken to achieve your end goal. It is always best to integrate these best qualities in your work. You will get more prominent and fast results.

All the best!
