10 Things to Do in your 20's to be Successful in your 30's

Our 20s are the time we have a lot of energy and momentum in life. We are young bloods that are capable of taking any challenge.

20's is the time where you would have completed your academic education and stepped into the world of adult. But yet, you will not have the whole responsibilities that are to be handled in adulthood. You will be new to the real world.

Those are the crucial times of our life. Your 20's is like the foundation on which you are going to build your whole life. So, you have a choice here to make the most out of it or to have a shaky foundation.

In this era, where every bad influence you need in your life is just at the distance of reach - the most influenced and affected ones by these are the young adults. Drugs, social media, the nuisance of the new world that evolves every day affects the most sensitive people - youngsters.

But, that is not the end. As I always say, you have a choice in everything. You can either be influenced by the negativity around you or go ahead and build a solid foundation for your future.

1. Invest in learning

Life is really just about learning. So, build the habit of being a knowledge seeker at your early 20's itself.

One biggest boon of social media is education has become easily accessible. There are various educational sites that give so much content for a very little price or even free. You just have to go and seek it.

Invest in webinars, courses, books, and materials. The knowledge you gather is valuable more than you think. One book you read can teach you strategies to hike up your sales. One course you take can help you invent a new product. You will never know what can help you when. So always be a seeker of knowledge.

Rather than investing in shiny objects like costly mobile, watches, and clothes, invest your money in books and education. Your value will hike up.

2. Take risks in finding your passion

Our work takes ups almost 60 % of our whole life. We spend most of the time at work. So, when you are working on something that you are not really into, you will probably hate your whole life. Your work intolerance will reflect in your relationships and paycheck.

So, it is always better to work in a field that suits you and you feel happy with. Sometimes, it will be hard to go after your passion when you are 30 and beyond because of the extra responsibilities you will have.

Whereas, in your 20s you will have minimal responsibility and maximum opportunity to go into your preferable field.

Remember, it is okay to start from scratch. I did the same. I was not a corporate 9-5 person, I did not enjoy what I did. And, I also knew that I can do better in coaching, writing, and counseling. So, I chose to quit my daily job to take over my passion. This is an obvious risk because I already had 3 years of experience in my previous job and I was also about to earn a much higher salary. But, I had zero peace and tolerance. I decided that it is okay to take risk now. No one is dependent on me. I had all the opportunities to go ahead and pursue my passion. So I did it. This is one of the best decisions I have taken in my life.

3. Learn emotional stability

In our 20's, it is easy for us to give in to our emotions. Sometimes, we will feel defeated and depressed. Sometimes we will not have the courage to take the first step. All these are just reactions to the fear you hold on.

Emotions might not always be true. Don't give up on your dreams because you are depressed. Don't let go of your passion because you feel it is not going to work out.

All these are just your emotions fooling you. Develop emotional stability in all means. This will help you tackle your emotional backfires.

4. Network

This is crucial for your success. Network and connect with people.

Having powerful connections are powerful. You cannot succeed single had in anything. Even if you do, to speed up your process you need likeminded people around you. People who support you and lift you is all you need.

In this era of social media, you can find your tribe by just giving a # and your keyword in Instagram. There are so many meetup forums that help in gathering likeminded people.

People are an essential element in your success. Don't just have friends just for fun and entertainment. When that is also cool, you should have friends you can lift you up and understand you. When you have the right people with you, then no one can stop you.

5. Money management

It is always better to learn money management at the early stages of our life. Because money is a much-needed substance for being financially free. You do not want to experiment with it at your 30's when you are already loaded with many financial responsibilities.

Start saving very early. Read some good financial intelligence books. As I said, books can save you tremendously. Do your research and invest in profitable businesses. Money is an awesome tool of power. Use it wisely.

6. Push your limits

Again, your 20s are the time of freedom and opportunities so why waste it by cocooning inside your comfort zone?

Push your limits and always strive to be better. This will become a habit for you and this will motivate you towards success.

The need to be safe and secure and to remain close to friends and family might seem like a good decision for you but in reality, it will make you more rooted and you will not be able to go out of your comfort zone.

When  you go out of your comfort zone, this will really help in uncovering your highest potential.

7. Establish good habits

You might feel that your 20s is the time you are independent and you should make the most out of it by partying and roaming around.

But, that is not going to help you anytime. You will eventually get out your 20s to the adulthood full of responsibilities while having a shaky foundation.

So, the best time to build any new habit is your 20s. Quit smoking, don't party every weekend, don't spend your money to show off. Instead, eat healthily, exercise regularly and take care of your mental health.

Having good habits is like a ladder to your growth. This will for sure increase your ability to succeed.

8. Have a meaningful relationship or don't have one

Don’t just jump into a relationship just for fun. Or don’t stay in a toxic relationship forever.

If you feel the other person is not adding any value to your life then just leave them. And also, don’t waste your time and energy on meaningless relationships.

Only get into a relationship if you know that you are going to build the future together.

9. Take responsibility

Be accountable for what you are doing. If you decide to take the risk then take on the whole responsibility on your shoulders. Don’t blame others.

When you develop the habit of responsibility, you will automatically make better choices because you will have no one to point a finger to. You are responsible for your success or failure.

10. Seek opportunities

This is the world of opportunities. But the thing is it is visible only to the ones that seek them.

Opportunities are floating int the air that you can easily grab them. Today's world has made it easier with the internet and stuff.

When you are always a seeker, you will get more opportunities to establish yourself to the world. Your 20s is the right time to experiment with all the opportunities you get.

Why is mental health important at Workplace?

Everyone has Mental Health. We talk as if mental health is needed only when people are depressed or sad. But, no mental health is essential to everyone every day. Just like you have physical health, you have mental health also. First, you need to clear in what mental health is to promote it or follow it. I have seen and worked in companies where so much importance is given to physical health. For example, the company that I worked for has a "Step - count" challenge where the person who has walked the highest steps in a day will be rewarded with gift vouchers. Mostly all the MNCs have Marathons and 10k, 20k running challenge. Also, every company has a sports team. I have been there done that. When it is good and healthy to give importance to employee's physical health; most companies miss out on the need to give importance to the employee's mental health. There is so little or no activities or programs that are conducted for Mental Wellness. I think no...
