5 Ways to keep your mind clear and calm



Clarity in mind means peace in life. Our unconscious mind loves clarity and it works better in clear situations. Most of us are clouded by our thoughts, distracted by social media, depressed by our environment that makes the situation of our mind worse. If you religiously follow the below simple steps, you can step into a more clear version of your reality.

1. Sleep

Sleep calms the chaos in our thoughts. Every person process millions of thoughts per second.

All these thoughts come to rest only when you are asleep. It is important to have at least 8 hours of proper sleep.

 Good sleep improves your mood and you will be all set with a new clarity to start your day.




2. Brain dump

This is one of the most important ways to calm your thoughts.

Take a journal, and write down whatever pops up in your head for the next 10 mins. You can write anything you want. If you don’t know what to write, then write 'I don't know what to write'.

It is really a simple technique with profound benefits in calming your thoughts and paving way for clarity.



3. Relax your body and mind

The chaos in your thoughts is the reason for your lack of clarity. This chaos actually stems from stressors that cause stress.

As per neuroscience and mind body soul connection, whatever affects our mind affects our physical body. Again, the pressure in your physical body ruins your mind. This then becomes a loop.

Due to stress, your muscles tense and create aches and pains. So, it is important to relax your body and mind.

You can use guided meditation or yoga to relax and reflex your muscles.

Meditation is an effective technique to calm your mind. Yes, it seems hard to control your thoughts at the beginning. But as time goes you can have control over your thoughts with consistent practice.



4. Decluttering

As I said, your mind loves clarity. So, it is important to declutter both physically and mentally.

Organize your room, give away things that you don't use, clean your mess, do a social media declutter, journal your thoughts. These are some of the ways you can declutter.

5. Don’t work too hard

Don’t work beyond your schedule always. Take breaks.

Your career is important but what is more important is your mental health. So take care of yourself by rewarding yourself.

Acknowledge your progress and appreciate yourself. Most importantly, love yourself.
