Introverts are
people who love spending time alone, they also process information slowly and
steadily and always require "alone" time to recharge themselves.
Introverts usually get exhausted after too many social interactions, basically
more than enough social interactions overwhelm and leave them worn out.
Unfortunately, we
live in an extroverted world where introverts are trying to fit in not
realizing that they would be much happier if they let their feelings flow. It
is okay to be introverted just like it is ok to be extroverted. Below are the
five tips that can help any introvert thrive without trying to fit in.
1. Choose a job that suits you
Career occupies a
huge chunk of your life. Therefore, it is wise to choose a job that suits your
character. It is hard to be a salesperson that goes door-to-door selling
things when you are an introvert. Even in an office environment, it will be
good if you keep your doors closed with minimal interactions. The most
preferable dream job for introverts would be a work from home and a work on my
pace job. Choosing a job that satisfies your feelings will help you thrive
better in your career and will also elevate your inner spirit!
2. Recognize your character
Many people are
ashamed of recognizing themselves as an introvert. They feel hard to say
"No" to things like parties and outings that extroverts enjoy doing.
So they try to fit in by acting extroverted which adversely will leave them
drained mentally and physically.
Remember, the worst
thing that you can do to yourself is to be ashamed of your identity. Tell your
friends and family that you are an introvert and you like spending time alone
than with people. Say no if you do not want to go out. Recognize your own character
and feel proud of standing for yourself.
3. Build your own relaxing space
It will be
overwhelming and draining with so many social interactions. For introverts, it
is essential that they have their own alone time in a comfortable space to
recharge their drained batteries.
If you are an
introvert then it is essential that you build your own relaxing space with the
things that you love around you. So that you can calm your overwhelming mind
and get back on track.
4. Use your "alone"
time
Most of the
introverts perform better only when they are alone. It is hard for them to
concentrate when they are surrounded by people and noisy environments. Alone
and quiet space is where they can thrive better and find some creative
solutions. Being an introvert you will be able to think clearly and precisely
if you use your alone time in a better and productive way.
5. Minimize overstimulation's
Do not act in ways
that overstimulate you. Try not to "act extroverted" in order to fit
in. Observe your feelings and take note of the times that you feel overwhelmed.
Now, slowly start eliminating these triggers that overwhelm you.
If you feel that you need your own space then
take it instead of saying yes to that party. If you wanted to Netflix alone
then do it instead of overwhelming yourself by going out for a movie night. Do
only what you feel like doing. And understand that it is valid to do what you
wanted to do!
