I would say that
acceptance is something that you need to develop if you want to lead a life
full of colors. Without acceptance, it is quite hard to move forward in our
life.
When you don’t try
to accept yourselves, you will always tend to over-analyze your mistakes and
get depressed over what happened to you. You will get stuck in the place you
are because rather than accepting the situation and moving forward, you will
always ruminate over what could have happened.
Acceptance is the
first step to move forward in every way. You should accept your flaws and
mistakes. Most of us hate ourselves and our life only because we do not accept our mistakes. We want us to be perfect. Learn to accept your mistakes and
imperfections. No one in this world is capable of being perfectly perfect t with
zero flaws.
You have to
surrender to yourself. Surrendering is the first step to learn acceptance.
Resistance is going to bring nothing to you. You will only fight against your
imperfections and fail. Now, look around you. How many things do you find
imperfect? You may find a lot of things that need to be perfect every time you
look around. Surrender yourself and accept that not everything can be perfect.
Most of us fail to
accept ourselves in the case of our body appearance. I was a victim of body
shaming. I have used numerous beauty products to get fair skin. I have also
had pills and mixes to lose weight and look slimmer. I hated my body. I was
trapped in the cycle of not being able to look better. Since I hated myself, I
was not able to move forward even after so many tries. I always gave up.
Once, I started
accepting my body I started to embrace who I am and how I look. Acceptance
taught me self love which in turn made me make healthy decisions about my life.
I have come forward so much only because I started accepting my flaws.
You should also
learn to accept the present moment. When you accept the present you will not
ruminate your past or get anxious over your future. Acceptance will enrich your
life.
The most important
thing that acceptance will help you with - is a failure. When you develop the
habit of acceptance, you will not get depressed over any failure. You will
accept it and move on. This will make you a stronger person and will help you
succeed in an optimistic way.
On the path of success, failure and setbacks are inevitable. Acceptance is the only thing
that is going to help you at those testing times.
Acceptance is the root of a tree. If the root is weak, the tree will collapse. If the root is steady, then
the tree is going to stand strong for years!
